School's out! We hurdled through the last couple weeks of school and as of 6:45 am tomorrow, summer will officially begin - at least for my girls. 6:45 because that is the time that my two oldest are usually getting up for school. And for about the first week or so I will hear, "Would we still be at school right now?" "Do you think we would be on the bus now or would we be home already?" I remember doing that. It is as if the "school-day hours" are more valuable than the rest and must be savored. At least for a while. Until the swimming, bug catching, sandbox village building, vacationing and picnicing stretch into the summer haze. And we all just forget to count the hours.
That brings me to my summer blogging hours. I tend to need quiet to write. With everyone home, my brain is often not my own. My goal is to post here about every 7-11 days or so. We'll see. I'm thinking the content of my posts may be more summerish too.
And now I'm laughing. I'm imagining someone stumbling across my blog around mid August. This being my most recent post. Thinking "that was the goal...but I guess she never made it." I say someone because I'm thinking that by then my tens of regular readers will have lost all hope of me ever posting again.
So, I will say this. If this does end up being my last post for a long while - most likely, I am still alive. Even more likely - I'm being held hostage in the back yard by 4 small, barefoot people who are covered in dirt from head to toe - daily. Send for help.

If you are being held hostage by four adorable, bare-footed, little women who cause your brain to melt into a lovely puddle of chocolate covered dreams, I will be happy to stop by and rescue you anytime! :)
On the other hand, I will miss your posts very much since I check them often to see what is happening in "girly world" where all the shirts are pink and the hair is long, shiny, and, at least occasionally I'm sure, smells like sun-dried sheets on a summer day.
Love you bunches. . .
I often get, "Can we have lunch now? If we were in school we would be having lunch now!" They don't like when I remind them that if they want to operate on the school mindset, I can come up with some math pages to do, too. :)
Hope you have a great summer. I'm wondering about the frequency of my posts, as well. Kids home...and I'm starting another book!
Please do let us know if you die or something! *wink*
LOL!
Headline: "Standoff at NY home now at 45 days...no end in sight...children's demands still not being met."
Have a great summer, IL!

I must admit I've gotten a little addicted to your posts and I'm going to miss them. A lot. But Amy has painted quite the wonderful picture of a girly summer up there, I'm not sure if I should be sad or completely jealous of little pink shirts in the sunshine...
:D Love ya!
Oh my. As sweet and funny as all your comments are...I can't help but notice a theme. Could it be that some of my 'regular' blog-buddies really don't expect to see me back here until the end of summer?? I feel the love but com'on...have a little faith! :)
IM - I've gotta get crackin' on your first book so I'm ready for the second. Any hints as to what the topic will be?
Zeph - for the record that headline would have to read, "Standoff at Northern PA home...."
Anna - don't be jealous...come on over for a run through the sprinkler...when we get one. :)
Amy - I'll count on your rescues often...I'm sure any of them would be more than happy to let you into their "girly world" for a while. Although, they love 4-wheelers too!
I was wondering if I had your geographic location correct. :o)
i'm glad i'm behind 'cuz now i get to say that i fully expect to see you back often!! now that blogging is in your blood it would be hard to experience all the fun of summer without putting them down into words. : )
and...our family would love to get together with your family sometime this summer!
A hint?
You want a hint?
OK.
It's more of a devotional this time. It will focus on experiencing God in the daily-ness of everday life as a mom and enjoying the days, rather than wasting life wishing away the days until life is "easy."
In a nutshell.
LP - Thanks for the vote of confidence! And, we are equally eager to get together soon!
IM - Thanks for the hint!
